Eaton Fire Rebuilds in Altadena
Build And Decor comes to Altadena as a licensed Class B general building contractor with more than 400 projects behind us, offering rebuild services to homeowners affected by the January 2025 Eaton Fire. Your rebuild gets a named superintendent, a written schedule, and a crew that shows up.
Insurance works like this. You and your carrier settle the scope. We build to the scope you settle on, and we document our work as we go with photographs, written change records, and inspection results you can hand to your adjuster. We do not negotiate or adjust claims. California licenses public adjusters for that work, and we will tell you so directly.
The County sets the rules for your lot. Los Angeles County Planning publishes a like-for-like pathway for a replacement structure at the same size, in the same location, and for the same land use, with modifications up to 10 percent or 200 square feet before a project leaves that pathway. Past those limits, Title 22, the Altadena Community Standards District, and a 20-foot front yard setback come into play. Most of the burn area falls inside a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, so Chapter 7A of the California Building Code governs the exterior: Class A roof assemblies, ember-resistant vents with corrosion-resistant mesh, and ignition-resistant or noncombustible eave protection. Oak tree protections and Altadena's historic landmark designations can apply to a parcel as well. Your parcel decides which pathway fits, and the County makes that call.
We will not promise you a permit date. We prepare a complete plan set, submit it, and turn County corrections around fast. The County operates a One-Stop Permit Center on West Woodbury Road in Altadena for rebuild questions, and we will sit down with you there or stand on your lot, whichever helps more.
